I knew Russell about 10 years ago. He was a very kind guy who looked after me when I was ill and had to go into hospital for an operation. I've only just heard that he'd passed away and am very sorry to learn of this. May he rest in peace. Lots of love, Richard Brierley.

I knew Russell from when we both worked in or around Ipswich in the 1990s. I visited him in Belper a couple of times, and we always stayed in touch. He was a good, kind and straightforward man, with a very good sense of humour. He will be sorely missed.

Thoughts
Russel was best man at my wedding and I knew him through our time at Rotaract, an Interrailing Holiday in
Scandanavia and the few years he spent in the NHS in East Anglia.
We spoke just after Christmas and although in good spirits I could tell a difference in his voice that suggested
his health had deteriorated.
He was a good friend and a good man and will be sadly missed.
